Raiders Owner Says He Would Welcome Colin Kaepernick To Team āWith OpenĀ Armsā
ColinĀ KaepernickĀ hasnāt played in the National Football League since 2016, but that hasnāt stopped thĆØ quarterback from pitching himself for a job in the league.Ā
In a recent episode of an āI Am An Athleteā podcast,Ā KaepernickĀ said heād be willing to join a team as a backup quarterback if that was his way onto an NFL roster.Ā
"I know I have to find my way back in,ā KaepernickĀ said. āSo, yeah, if I have to come in as a backup, that fine. But thatās not where Iām staying. And when I prove that Iām a starter, I want to be able to step on the field as such. I just need that opportunity to walk through the door.ā
Thereās at least one owner of an NFL team that would be willing to give him a chance.Ā
On Wednesdayās episode of NBC SportsĀ āRace in America: A Candid Conversation,ā Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis said that he would welcome Kaepernick to the Raiders with āopen arms.ā
āI believe in Colin Kaepernick,ā DavisĀ said. āHe deserves every chance in the world to become a quarterback in the National Football League. I still stand by it. If our coaches and general manager want to bring him in or want him to be the quarterback on this team, I would welcome him with open arms.ā
āI think Colin is a very misunderstood human being,ā Davis continued. āIāve gotten a chance to talk to him. I never really knew Colin, and I didnāt understand him. I didnāt understand the kneeling, what that meant initially. Over time, I have learned a little bit more about it. I understand where he was coming from. Heās got a message for society as a whole.ā
Davis went on to compare Kaepernick to Olympian Tommie Smith, who raised his fist during a medal ceremony at the 1968 Olympics, saying that Kaepernick was in the āsame veinā as Smith in that Kaepernick sacrificed things in his life to āget a message across about police violence, equity, and inclusion.ā
I will have less of a presence on The Torrid Tribe Community. We have very little activity here. This is a sign to me that members have found other social media resources that they are spending more time in. I am happy to see less censorship on social media in general. I started The Torrid Tribe 4 years ago when we were in a state of censorship and lockdowns. It was a difficult time and this was a haven and sanctuary for so many.
I will be lightly posting things here to give you all content to see. This community will always be open to everyone and will resurrect to its full capacity if subscribers show they want it fully operational again with full time administration.
Thank you for being a part of this community. Sending each of you hugs.
