BREAKING: Rubio Shuts Down Biden Admin's $65 Million 'Censorship Office'
In a decisive move to restore free speech, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the immediate closure of the Counter Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference office (R-FIMI), previously known as the Global Engagement Center (GEC). This controversial department cost American taxpayers more than $50 million annually and was widely criticized for actively censoring Americans.
Rubio stated on X: "Over the last decade, Americans have been slandered, fired, charged, and even jailed for simply voicing their opinions. That ends today."
This significant step includes placing all 30 full-time R-FIMI staff members on immediate leave, eliminating all 50 full-time positions, and formally notifying Congress of the termination of the office and its $65 million budget.
The termination follows a Reduction In Force (RIF) procedure, designed explicitly to prevent bureaucratic maneuvering that previously allowed GEC's censorship activities to persist under new names. Acting Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy Darren J. Beattie, alongside Rubio, had already terminated over 100 contractors last month, dismantling the extensive network of private sector and government censorship operatives.
Although the GEC was officially sunset by Congress last year, the Biden administration attempted to preserve its censorship apparatus under R-FIMI. Today's decisive action ensures this practice ends definitively.
Critics of government censorship have applauded this historic decision, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding Americans' First Amendment rights from bureaucratic overreach.
The Past few days I’ve been thinking about the anniversary of the loss of my dad back in 2015. It was a pure blessing to take care of him and his final living years. I wanted to show you some of my trees. I’m growing. We have a peach tree, a mango tree, a low quad tree and an avocado tree. And the flower box I’m growing my grape vines which are in their infancy and they’re finishing up their season.
Good morning 😃 the pool is 79 now and it should be 80 in a couple hours so I will be going swimming today. This is probably going to be my last week of swimming because I believe we’re gonna be heading into fall temperatures which bring my pool temperature down. I definitely want to get a pool heater.
I will have less of a presence on The Torrid Tribe Community. We have very little activity here. This is a sign to me that members have found other social media resources that they are spending more time in. I am happy to see less censorship on social media in general. I started The Torrid Tribe 4 years ago when we were in a state of censorship and lockdowns. It was a difficult time and this was a haven and sanctuary for so many.
I will be lightly posting things here to give you all content to see. This community will always be open to everyone and will resurrect to its full capacity if subscribers show they want it fully operational again with full time administration.
Thank you for being a part of this community. Sending each of you hugs.
