California's energy crisis is deepening as Governor Gavin Newsom pushes policies that critics say amount to a hostile takeover of the state's oil industry. Valero Energy plans to shutter its Benicia refinery-responsible for processing 145,000 barrels of crude oil per day-by 2026, citing an oppressive regulatory climate and punishing fines, including a staggering $82 million air quality penalty.
The closure will slash California's refining capacity by 9%, spike fuel prices, and increase reliance on foreign oil. Laws like SBX 1-2, which micromanage fuel production and pricing, are pushing traditional energy producers out unless they shift to biofuels.
Meanwhile, state documents reveal a troubling plan for California to establish its own refineries, signaling a move toward a state-run energy monopoly.
Critics argue that Newsom's agenda isn't about saving the environment, but about consolidating power-an assault on free enterprise wrapped in the rhetoric of climate equity. As energy independence crumbles, Californians are left to face the consequences of $10 gasoline, foreign dependence, and a vanishing free-market system.
I will have less of a presence on The Torrid Tribe Community. We have very little activity here. This is a sign to me that members have found other social media resources that they are spending more time in. I am happy to see less censorship on social media in general. I started The Torrid Tribe 4 years ago when we were in a state of censorship and lockdowns. It was a difficult time and this was a haven and sanctuary for so many.
I will be lightly posting things here to give you all content to see. This community will always be open to everyone and will resurrect to its full capacity if subscribers show they want it fully operational again with full time administration.
Thank you for being a part of this community. Sending each of you hugs.
