"Three Identical Strangers" is a 2018 documentary film directed by Tim Wardle. It tells the incredible true story of triplets who were separated at birth and reunited by chance at the age of 19.
Bobby, Eddy, and David were identical triplets who were adopted into different homes as infants, completely unaware of each other’s existence.
In 1980, Bobby Shafran arrived at college and was mistaken for someone named Eddy Galland.
Soon, the two realized they were twins who were adopted into different families. Their story made headlines, and a third brother, David Kellman, saw their photo in the newspaper and contacted them. The triplets were overjoyed to reunite and became media sensations.
However, what seemed like a joyful, miraculous reunion turned out to be the result of a deeply unethical psychological experiment.
The study, led by psychiatrist Peter Neubauer and funded by a Jewish adoption agency and a social service organization, aimed to observe how different parenting styles would shape genetically identical children.
Each boy was placed with a family from a different socioeconomic background — one blue-collar, one middle-class, one upper-class — and researchers monitored them for years through home visits, tests, and videotaped interviews.
None of the adoptive families were told their child had siblings. They were simply told their child was part of a “routine developmental study.”
The worst part? The findings of the study were never published. Neubauer sealed the records until 2066. To this day, the full extent of what was learned remains hidden.
The psychological impact was devastating. All three brothers struggled with mental health challenges. Tragically, Eddy died by suicide years later.
This story isn't just about long-lost siblings. It's about how far researchers will go in the name of science, and how little regard they have for the people whose lives they manipulate.
I will have less of a presence on The Torrid Tribe Community. We have very little activity here. This is a sign to me that members have found other social media resources that they are spending more time in. I am happy to see less censorship on social media in general. I started The Torrid Tribe 4 years ago when we were in a state of censorship and lockdowns. It was a difficult time and this was a haven and sanctuary for so many.
I will be lightly posting things here to give you all content to see. This community will always be open to everyone and will resurrect to its full capacity if subscribers show they want it fully operational again with full time administration.
Thank you for being a part of this community. Sending each of you hugs.
