They stabbed her, beat her, and rolled her broken body down a canyon — certain she’d never rise again. But Larcena Pennington Page wasn’t done living. The year was 1860, and she’d been taken by Apaches near Fort Buchanan, Arizona. Wounded, barefoot, and alone in the mountains, she lay hidden until nightfall, breathing through pain so deep it blurred her sight. Then she started crawling — inch by inch — toward life.
Her dress was torn to rags, her hands raw from rock and cactus. She ate pine buds and snow, dragging herself through canyons and thorns, leaving a trail of blood in her wake. For fourteen days she crawled, delirious and half-blind, guided only by the sun and a memory of where home once was. Coyotes circled at night, and fever clawed at her mind, but she kept whispering her husband’s name — the one thread tying her to the world she refused to leave.
When soldiers finally found her, she was little more than bone and willpower, her body torn but her eyes still fierce. They said no one could have survived what she did. But Larcena Page wasn’t built for surrender. She turned agony into endurance, carving her name into the hard stone of the frontier — a woman who crawled fifteen miles through hell, just to prove she could.
I will have less of a presence on The Torrid Tribe Community. We have very little activity here. This is a sign to me that members have found other social media resources that they are spending more time in. I am happy to see less censorship on social media in general. I started The Torrid Tribe 4 years ago when we were in a state of censorship and lockdowns. It was a difficult time and this was a haven and sanctuary for so many.
I will be lightly posting things here to give you all content to see. This community will always be open to everyone and will resurrect to its full capacity if subscribers show they want it fully operational again with full time administration.
Thank you for being a part of this community. Sending each of you hugs.
