CALIFORNIA DEMOCRATS PASS THE STOP NICK SHIRLEY ACT TO SHIELD FRAUD AND SILENCE WATCHDOG JOURNALISTS
California Democrats just rammed through AB 2624, the “Stop Nick Shirley Act,” a blatant attack on transparency and the First Amendment.
Assemblyman Carl DeMaio ripped into the bill on the floor: “This is what many are calling the Stop Nick Shirley Act, this provision right here, B-1… If you support freedom of speech and the First Amendment B-1 is a problem.”
He quoted the bill directly: “A person shall not publicly post or display on the internet image of a designated immigrant support services provider… only if this so-called provider has given a written request.”
DeMaio exposed exactly how it protects fraud: “Let me give you an example. Nick Shirley shows up with his camera crew to the Somali Learning Center or maybe one of the 90 fake hospices operating in a building in Los Angeles… Nick Shirley records empty beds at the daycare center, records no patients, no medical supplies, no nurses, no doctors at the fake hospices.”
He continued: “On the basis of this research, investigative research, posts this on the internet… All the fraudsters would have to do is hand a business card over to investigative journalist and if they posted that evidence that caught on video on internet they will be violating this law.”
DeMaio warned: “This is outrageous and I’m urging you to uphold the First Amendment and protect the right of citizen journalists like Nick Shirley and others to do the work they’ve been doing and they have been exposing fraud. And this is fraud taxpayers ought know about. This is the dollars of taxpayers. We have an obligation to make sure that the transparency is provided.”
Democrats, led by Assemblymember Mia Bonta — wife of Attorney General Rob Bonta — are openly working to cover up massive fraud in immigration NGOs, nonprofits, and health facilities sucking in hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars. This is corruption on steroids, designed to scare off anyone trying to expose the grift.
I will have less of a presence on The Torrid Tribe Community. We have very little activity here. This is a sign to me that members have found other social media resources that they are spending more time in. I am happy to see less censorship on social media in general. I started The Torrid Tribe 4 years ago when we were in a state of censorship and lockdowns. It was a difficult time and this was a haven and sanctuary for so many.
I will be lightly posting things here to give you all content to see. This community will always be open to everyone and will resurrect to its full capacity if subscribers show they want it fully operational again with full time administration.
